2 €, Colored, 50th Anniversary of the Austrian State Treaty, Austria, 2005

The coin depicts the signatures and seals of the Austrian State Treaty, which was signed in May 1955 by the Foreign Ministers and Ambassadors of the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the USA, and France, as well as by the Austrian Foreign Minister Leopold Figl. Above the seals, the inscription ’50 JAHRE STAATSVERTRAG’ is displayed, and below them, the year of issue ‘2005’. The vertical stripes in the background represent the national colors of Austria (red-white-red). The perimeter of the coin displays the twelve stars of the European Union.
