A collectible 2 euro coin dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Dodecanese’s union with Greece, a significant historical event that occurred in 1948. Following the end of World War II, the Dodecanese, which were under Italian occupation, were officially incorporated into Greece according to the Peace Treaty signed with Italy.
This unique coin is an exceptional example of numismatic art, as it combines two precious metals: gold and ruthenium. Each 2 euro coin is fully immersed in ruthenium and then, with great care, the main design is gilded, highlighting every detail.
The ring surrounding the design is also gilded, further enhancing its appearance. The shine of the gold provides the perfect contrast to the matte black ruthenium.
On the reverse side of the coin, the same technique is applied, with gilding of the map of Europe and the nominal value, making the coin complete and unique in its design. This collectible coin is a rare piece for any collection, offering a unique retrospective on the history of Greece and Europe.
