A collectible 2 Euro coin from Germany in 2021, dedicated to the Magdeburg Cathedral, the country’s oldest Gothic cathedral. Officially known as the Cathedral of Saints Maurice and Catherine, it is a Protestant cathedral and was the first cathedral of the former Prince-Archbishopric of Magdeburg.
The coin’s design depicts the Magdeburg Cathedral, the first Gothic cathedral built on German soil. The inner part also bears the inscription ‘SACHSEN-ANHALT’ and, at the bottom, the issuing country’s code ‘D’, on the left the mint mark (‘A’, ‘D’, ‘F’, ‘G’, or ‘J’), as well as the year ‘2021’ and on the right the engraver’s mark.
The outer ring of the coin features the 12 stars of the European flag. This unique and rare collectible coin is ideal for any coin collection.
