2 Euro Erasmus Common Issue 2022 Collection & Album

The Erasmus program is an EU student and teacher exchange initiative between universities established in 1987. Starting with 11 countries and 3,000 students, Erasmus has become the most popular education program, with over 9 million participants since its inception. The coin design by Mr. Joaquin Jimenez was selected, receiving over 22,000 votes. Eurozone member states are now called to complete the next steps to proceed with the minting and issue scheduled for July 1, 2022. After over 70 coin designs were submitted for this competition, the jury selected six coins to advance to the public voting examination initiated by the Commission last month. Over 72,000 voted to choose the design they believed best represented and celebrated the success of the Erasmus project. Erasmus+ is one of the EU’s most iconic initiatives and a European success story. Since its start in 1987, 10 million people have benefited from it. More than 300,000 students and 42 countries participate in the program each year, and over 100 countries are involved in Erasmus projects. In 2022, the Erasmus program celebrates its 35th anniversary. The European Commission selected from the six competition designs the common commemorative Erasmus 2 euro coin 2022.
