2 Euro, Colored, Finland, 50th Anniversary of UN Membership, 2005

Official colored commemorative 2 euro coin, weighing 8.5 grams with a diameter of 25.75 mm, issued by the Finnish Mint in 2005, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the United Nations founding and Finland’s 50th anniversary of UN membership. The coin features a peace dove formed by puzzle pieces. Below the dove and parallel to the bottom edge of the coin, the inscription ‘FINLAND-UN’ is engraved on the left and the year of issue on the right. Above the last digit of the year of issue and near the edge of a puzzle piece, the letter ‘K’, the initial of the engraver, is visible. The mint’s mark ‘M’ is engraved just below the peace dove. The perimeter of the coin depicts the twelve stars of the European Union.
