Η Απόβαση στη Νορμανδία με κωδική ονομασία Operation Overlord (=Επιχείρηση Κυρίαρχος) ήταν η Συμμαχική απόβαση στα παράλια της Γαλλίας, που έλαβε χώρα στις 6 Ιουνίου 1944, μέρα γνωστή και ως D-Day. Αντικειμενικός σκοπός της απόβασης ήταν να δημιουργήσει ένα προγεφύρωμα, μέσω του οποίου οι Σύμμαχοι θα περνούσαν στρατεύματα από τη Μεγάλη Βρετανία στην ηπειρωτική Ευρώπη.
