Baron Pierre de Coubertin, a French educator and historian, is widely recognized as the founder of the International Olympic Committee, the reviver, and the father of the modern Olympic Games. With his education in England and America and his endless passion for sports, he founded the French Athletic Sports Union in 1887. As its secretary-general, he began to promote the idea of reviving the Olympic Games. After his death, his heart was transferred to Ancient Olympia, where it was buried in a stele known as the Pierre de Coubertin Monument.

Following his death, his heart was transferred to Ancient Olympia where it was interred in a commemorative stele named the Pierre de Coubertin Monument.
