At the center of the coin, an angel painted by Leonardo da Vinci is depicted, a detail from the work ‘The Baptism of Christ’. Around the edge, on the left side, the inscription ‘SAN MARINO’ and on the right side, the inscription ‘1519 Leonardo 2019’; on the left side, the initials of the artist Uliana Pernazza ‘UP’ and, on the lower right side, the letter ‘R’, the hallmark of the Rome Mint. The outer ring of the coin features the twelve stars of the European flag.
