Commemorative colored 2-euro coin for the National Anthem of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. ‘Ons Heemecht’ is the national anthem of Luxembourg, translated as ‘Our Homeland’. The lyrics were written by Michel Lentz in 1859, and the melody was composed by Jean Antoine Zinnen in 1864. The song was first presented to the public in Ettelbruck, a town at the confluence of the Alzette and Sauer rivers, on June 5, 1864. The coin features on the right side the effigy of His Royal Highness the Grand Duke Henri and on the left side, the score and text of the national anthem.
